Batman Begins… Again

\"\"

I\’ve recently been in a photographer\’s version of a writing block. I just haven\’t been getting it done to the scale I should. I do take a fair number of images. I\’ve downloaded about 1,500 over the summer, but not of the sort I\’ve regeared to shoot. I have to find a new way to approach it, like going out for an hour or two after work in the evening. That\’s when the light is best.

I\’ve reached a point where I\’m just not seeing lenses that excite me—critical mass in switching away from Nikon full-frame DSLRs into Pentax and Olympus crop sensors.

Instead, I\’m doing other things now. Like creating a Batman motif, I\’d like to be known for. Call it freeing the inner nerd. I want to learn to draw characters, but Batman is just plain cool. Plus, I work with a guy into the Flash and Spiderman, so I can adopt Batman without stepping on any toes.

I ordered some items to start a makeover for the basement, where I will increasingly dwell and work on things like the website I\’m developing (OXZO.com). I got a queen-sized blanket and pillowcases with Batman\’s emblem. I also got a new watch with his cowl on it. A nice one, too, from Invictus. I also got a new phone case and a grip with a bat-shaped emblem. I even got an auto decal of the symbol on one of my laptops.

I think I\’ll add some posters, lights, and other things in the basement too. It\’s a long-term thing. An indulgence that doesn\’t cost much compared to cameras and computer-related items.
